Trek X Caliber 9 in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia for sale

There's no doubt about it, BC is one of the greatest places in the world for mountain biking, and chances are if you've clicked this ad you've either outgrown your old mountain bike or you're looking to try it for the first time.
In either case, you're in the right place. For sale is my 2014 Trek X Caliber 9. The bike best fits riders ranging from 5'9" to 6'1". I bought this bike from Trek Pro City in Esquimalt when is was released in 2014. Trek sells this bike as an aggressive XC trail hardtail. During my time on this bike, I came to understand just how capable and aggressive it truly is. For a hardtail, it descends excellently and stays planted through tight switchbacks. I was thoroughly impressed with how this bike handled, so I decided back in mid 2016 to do some services and upgrades to keep it going.
After a thorough service at Pro City in Esquimalt, the X Caliber returned with a freshened up drivetrain with some new parts, front and rear wheel truing, and new cables and housing for all drivetrain components. The bike has been routinely serviced when appropriate since then.
In addition to this major service, I installed a new Kore Torsion 800mm handlebar (cut down to 760mm to better suit trail riding) and a RaceFace Aeffect 50mm stem. This made the bike feel even more planted and controlled through loose, technical terrain. In addition to the new cockpit setup, the X Caliber recently received a brand new pair of Shimano XT M8000 brakes. These perform phenomenally and are a significant upgrade over the stock brakes.
The X Caliber has 29" rims which admittedly take a few rides to get used to, but once you've grown accustomed to the "pizza cutter" wheels, you'll be flying. This bike is exceptionally quick on hard-packed singletrack and performs superbly on climbs. You'll leave your other riding buddies in the dust!
This bike has served me extremely well as a first mountain bike, and I've been thoroughly impressed with its capabilities on every ride. I'm selling it because I've moved to a full-suspension bike to better suit my riding interests.
