Here's the scoop: I am super passionate about Airstreams and happen to know a thing or two about them through countless hours of research and restoration work that I have done. All the things I have noted below typically are not done on used Airstreams and often they are pieced together for a quick sale or worst yet you will find hidden surprises. Here's a snap shot and few pic throughout the process. All total approx 300-400 hrs to date. The Airstream has completely been gutted. I have all original parts of value for the new owner, prepped and painted the entire frame using POR15, added a brand new Okume Mahogany marine floor/ added West Fiberglas gel coat system to this so water will not penetrate it, added new brakes/bearings, new Rv tires, new commercial grade Roxul 2' insulation, all new marine grade AC/DC wiring with new converter, new fantastic vents x 2, new stainless segment protectors, new front window sun visor, the old plastic coat stripped and removed, first coarse polish completed using aircraft polish, new front/rear banana wraps replaced, new access compartments added and many additional new parts included in the sale. Note: Our Airstream has been completely sheltered from all weather during the restoration process.
